AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 134.30, AND SUBDIVISION
2 OF SECTION 134.34 OF CHAPTER 134 OF THE ROCHESTER
CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO MOVING VEHICLES TO
AVOID OVERPARKING
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER DO ORDAIN:
Section 1. Section 134.30 of Chapter 134 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances
is hereby Amended to read as follows:
134.30. Moving Vehicles to Avoid Overparking. For purposes of determining a
violation, a vehicle shall be considered to have remained parked or to have been re-parked
within the same block, lot, or ramp when it is established that the same vehicle has been found
parked along either side of the same street or road between two intersecting roads, or has
been parked within the same lot or ramp at any time within a four hour period, regardless of
any evidence that the vehicle was moved between the time it was initially parked and later re-
parked. Each 12-, 20-, 30-, 60-, 90-, 120-, 180-minute or other time-limited period during which
a vehicle is parked shall constitute a separate and additional violation. For the purpose of the
regulations relating to limited parking zones, any vehicle moved a distance of not more than
one block during the limited parking period shall be deemed to have remained stationary.
Section 2. Subdivision 2 of Section 134.34 of Chapter 134 of the Rochester Code of
Ordinances is here Amended to read as follows:
Subd. 2. A vehicle is unlawfully parked:
(A) If it remains in such block, lot, or ramp parking meter space beyond the
legal parking limit established for the particular limited parking zone; or
(B) When such parking meter displays a sign or signal indicating a parking
violation. and payment has not been made by alternative city-authorized payment
method.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall become effective on and after the date of its publication.
