RESOLUTION
Awarding Contract for Project No. J7348 Reconstruction of Center St E from
Zumbro River Bridge to 11 Ave E
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the following improvement(s): Project
No. J7348 Reconstruction of Center St E from Zumbro River Bridge to 11 Ave E, the
following bids were received complying with the advertisement:
Bidder Total Bid
A-1 Excavating LLC $5,211,112
Pember Companies, Inc $5,596,454.15
Heselton Construction $6,271,281.25
Elcor Construction $8,897,623; and
WHEREAS, it appears that A-1 Excavating LLC is the lowest responsive and responsible
bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
MN that the bid of $5,211,112 is hereby accepted and execution of the standard City contract
for construction with A-1 Excavating LLC, is authorized for the following approved local
improvements: Project No. J7348 Reconstruction of Center St E from Zumbro River Bridge
to 11 Ave E; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is direct to return to all bidders the deposits
made with their bids, except the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder,
which shall be retained until the contract has been executed; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the bidder shall execute all contracts within ten days after
the contract is ready for their signature, and if not executed by then in said time, they shall
be deemed to have abandoned the same.
