RESOLUTION
Authorizing the Advanced Purchase of a Police Vehicle
WHEREAS, Rochester Police Department squad vehicle 031 was damaged on April 11,
2026, because a person crashed into the vehicle, and the squad is no longer operational;
and
WHEREAS, there is a need to make an advanced purchase of a replacement police squad,
in 2026 to be delivered and paid for in 2026; and
WHEREAS, the advanced purchase of police vehicle will ensure the availability of necessary
police vehicles for the City of Rochester.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
that the common council authorizes the police department to execute an advanced
purchase/lease of a police vehicle to replace squad 031 and utilize the Equipment Revolving
Fund for the purchase, equipment, and labor necessary for replacement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if restitution is recovered, that any amount goes back
into the Equipment Revolving Fund.
