Minutes of a special meeting of the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, held,in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, in said !! City, on November 16th,193. President Lemmon called the meeting to order at 5:15 o'clock P.M., the followingmembers being resent. Lemmon Amundsen Fryer Green Food g P Richman and Williams. Absent: None. The call for the special meeting was read -*and President Lemmon ordered that the same be placed on file; said meeting having been called for the purpose of adopting plans and specifications and ordering advertisement for bids on !; P.W.A.Sewer project, Docket N01516,F and any other business the said Common Gouncil might deem proper. Alderman Fryer introduced the following resolution, which was read: "WHEREAS, The Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, deem it expedient and necessary that the following described public improvements be made and done: The construction of a twelve inch sanitary sewer on First Avenue Southwest from Fifth Street Southwest to Sixth Street Southwest; The construction of a fifteen inch sanitary sewer on Sixteenth Avenue Southwest from First Street Northwest to Second Street* Southwest; The construction of an eight inch sanitary sewer in the alley in Block 4, Eutzky's First Addition; and The construction of a twenty one inch storm sewer in Soldier Field, and Minnesota has made , WHEREAS, The City of Rochester, application with the Federal Emergency Administration of -Public Works for a PWA grant of 45 percent of the, cost of said improvements, and said Fed.dral Emergency Administration of Public Works.has offered -to aid in financing the construction of said improve- ments by a PWA grant of 45 percent of the cost under Minnesota Docket No.1516; and WHEREAS The City Engineer has submitted plans, specifications and. estimate of cost for the construction of the above described improvements; SO THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Rochester,; Minnesota: i That is is expedient and.necessary that the -above described improvements be I' constructed, and that the plans, specifications and estimate of cost filed by the City,Engineer for said improvements be and -the same are hereby adopted and ordered placed on file in the office of the City Clerk of sai4 City. Be it further resolved by the said Common Council: That the City Clerk of 'i said City, be and he is hereby -authorized and directed to advertise for bids as ; provided by law, for the furnishing of -all the materials, and doing all of the work necessary for the construction of said improvements above described in acr.ordance with said filed plans and specifications, said bids to be received and', ' opened by the said Common Council at a public meeting -thereof, to be held at 7:30 o'clock P.M., on December 12th,1939, in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, in said Cityl Each bid must be accompanied by a certified. check for at least ten -percent of the amount of the bid, and this Corjmon Council reserves the right to reject -any and -all bids. If Upon motion by Moody second by Williams, that the said resolution be adopted',, as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the said resolution duly passed -and -adopted. Alderman Amundsen introduced a resolution granting a public dance permit to Edw. E.gruger for the A.O.U.W.Hall for November 19th,1938, and fixing the ! fee at $3.00,which was read. i, Record of Official Proceedings of the. Upon motion by Amundsen second by Richman, that the said resolutibn'be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemm.on`declared the said resol-ation duly passed and adopted.
