Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, in said City, on January 18, 1965.
President DeVries called the meeting to order at 7:30 o'clock P. M., the following
members being present: President DeVries, Aldermen Day, Eichten, McCaleb, Perry, Wilson.
Absent: Alderman Hanlon.
Upon motion by Wilson, second by Eichten, and all present voting in favor thereof, the
minutes of the meeting held January 4,'1965 were approved. •
President DeVries stated this as being the time and place set;for receiving and
- .opening bids for -the following projects:
Bids for installation of -sanitary sewer and water main (for future use) across the
r.o.w. of T. H. 52 in the SE 4 NE'k Section 10-106-14. The bids of Carlisle G. Fraser, Inc. in
the amount of $4,787.70; Littrup Nielson Inc. in the amount.of $5,505.00 and Riverside Sand &
Gravel Company in the amount of $4,320.80 were each received and opened. Upon motion by Wilson,
second by Eichten, and all -present voting in favor thereof, the bids were referred to the Public
Works Committee.and City Engineer for tabulation and recommendation.
Bids for construction of sanitary sewer and water main in North Skyline Drive and West
Frontage Road of T. H. 52 to Lot 55,,North Sunny Slopes. The bids of Littrup Nielson Inc. in
the amount of $16,448.50; Riverside Sand•& Gravel Company in the amount of $16,058.20; Kasson
Sewer & Water in the amount of $18,938.95 and Carlisle G. Fraser, Inc. in the amount of
$14,888.10 were each received and opened. Upon motion by Wilson, second by Eichten, and all
present voting in favor thereof, the bids were referred to the Public Works Committee and City
Engineer for tabulation and recommendation.
Bids for furnishing of an asphalt -heater mixer -tailgate mounted for the Street & Alley
Department. The bids of Road Machinery and Supplies Company in the amount of $1,350.00 and
MacQueen Equipment, Inc. in the amount:of $1,950.00 were each received and opened. Upon motion
by Eichten, second by Wilson, and all present voting in favor thereof, the bids were referred
to the Public Works Committee and City Engineer for tabulation and recommendation.
Bids for furnishing of a 200 H. P. steam heating boiler 'and its complete installation
at the City of Rochester Municipal Airport.' The bids of J. W. R. Plumbing & Heating, Inc. in
the amount of $19,000.00 for Bid A and $15,200.00 for Bid A-1; H. Dornack & Sons in the amount
of $17,400.00 for Bid A.and $14,700.00 for Bid A-1; Kirckof Plumbing and Heating Co. in the
amount of $16,083.00 for Bid A and $14,083.00 for Bid A-1; Kenny Boiler and Manufacturing
Company in the amount of $16,745.00 for Bid A and $13,061.00 for Bid A-1; and The Sanitary
Company, Inc. in the amount of $17,329.00 for Bid A and $16,000.00 for Bid A-1 were each
received and opened and upon motion by Perry, second by Eichten, and all present voting in
favor thereof, the bids were referred.to.the Airport Commission and Pfeifer & Schultz for
tabulation and recommendation.
