Minutes of a special meeting of the Common Council held in the vouncil
Chambers in the City Nall, in the City: -of Pochester, Minnesota, on October 19,
1945.
President Lemmon called the meeting to order at 7:00 o'clock P.M., th
following members being present: Lemmon, Fryer, Kennedy, Kjerner, Alcquillan,
Narveson, and Yaeger. Absent: None.
The call for the special meeting was read and President Lemmon ordered
that the same be placed on file; said meeting having been called for the purpose
of considering the report of the Aviation Investigation Committee.
Mr. Frederick Furlow made the report of the Aviation Investigation
Committee and recommended that the City accept the title to the airport and lease
same to the corporation for thirty .years. Upon motion by Fryer, secor_d by
Narveson, the report was accepted and the City Attorney was instructed to take
th,e necessary steps to acquire title and to execute such lease.
Mr. A. J. Lobb spoke, advising as to just what property is inclzzded
in the airport proper.
Mayor Grassle extended the thanks of the City to the corporation for
the gift to the City of this airport. President Lemmon also tendered his thanks
in behalf of Rochester for this outstanding gift.
Alderman Kennedy introduced a. resolution ordering a hearir_g on the
grading and construction of -,,. sanitary sewer and watermain in 12th Avenue Southea
from Sth Street Southeast to 200 feet south, which was read..
Upon motion by Yaeger, second by Kjerner, that the said resolution be
a.dopted as rer:.e., and all voting in favor thereof, President Lemmon declared the
said- resolution duly _,assed and adopted.
Upon motion by Kennedy, second by Kjerner, the meeting was adjourned.
