Minutes of a special meeting of the Common Council of the City
of Rochester, Minnesota held'in the Council Chambers, in the City Halls

Alderman Schroeder made a.motion-Which,was seconded by'Alderman

The City Attorney ruled that this ordinance could iZot.be revoked'
except upon the agreement of both parties concerned but that the said
L. Van Tassel could be arrested for the violation of any of its provisions
Upon the said ruling, Aldermen Schroedpr and Witzke withdrew the
above mentioned motion,
A motion by Alderman Schroeder that the City Attorney be in

A motion by Alderman Miner -that E. C. Domaille and Go Ai 2amzow
11,1,be granted franchises to operate their sight-seeifig automobiles as jitney
usses after such time as this Common Council can confer With them as to
at streets they wish to operate upon, received no second.

Julius Riess insists upon'the iepair of the east end of Fifth Street Northeast and
threatens siftt for damages against the City of Rochester, Minnesota, if action to
remedy the condition is n-ot'taken at oncea
Motion by Rommel second by Case carried that the City Engineer be instructed
to close Fifth Street Northeast owin'g to the dangerous condition caused by the wash-
ing out a portion of the north side of said street@
Motion by Miner second by.Schroeder carried., by all voting in favor thereof,
that Arnold and Burton and Bashaw and Wilsey be authorized to operate their busses as

taxis to and from the hotels and depots only until the next meeting of this Common
Council*
on motion by Rommel second by Miner Council adjournedi,
