None a �t Motion by Schroeder' second by Case carried that the minutes of the meetings held on December 6th, 1920, and December 22nd, 1920, be each approved. President Weeks stated that this was the time and Place set for a hearing in the matter of a public street being laid out and opened in, over, through and across the following premises, situate in the City of Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota, { to -wit: The North twenty-five (25) feet of Lots Forty-nine (49). Fifty-five (55) Fifty-four (54) and Fifty-three (53). and the South twenty-five (25) feet of Lots j .r 'Fifty (50) and Fifty-two (52), all in State Subdivision of Section Thirty -Six (36) j. jin Township One Hundred Seven•(107) North of Range Fourteen (14) Westf and asked if }; there was any one present who wished to be heard in the matter. Thomas Fraser ;and Julius Pi Riess o pposed any assessment against the proper- { t of said Riess for the�o enin of the above mentioned street' they claiming that it y , P g s y g was of no benefit to the 4said property. Elmer A. Hurlbutt stated that there was no public road out from his proper- ` a ty when he bought it and !as one was necessary he signed a petition for the opening of ` this street. There were no other persons present who wished to be heard in the matters =r.., George B. Knowlton, as an individual property owner and tax payer, was before der the Common Council in regard to the proposed all year Assessor, and stated that while ,G he, as a member of a Committee, was before, the Tax Commission last fall, they unoffic- ially opposed such an expense for a small city and suggested that the City of Rochester 1 put into effect a system 'such as the City of Red Wing has; the City Engineer to make plats of each block and' ,of the divisions thereof and that the Building Inspector de- signate the buildings thereon and then keep them up to date by making additions, which (`(records would be the property of the City for use of the City Assessor.
