HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-23-1924Minutes of a Special "fleeting of the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers, in- the City Hall, in said City, on December 23rd, 1924, at 11:45 o'clock A.M. President Weeks being absent motion by Newhouse second by Wright carried that Alderman Cook act as President Pro Tem and alderman Cook accordingly took the Chair as such.± Roll Call: Present: Cook, Lemmon, Newhouse, Roeder, Wright. Absent: Weeks, Kitzman. The cull for the Special Meeting was read, the meeting being called for the purpose of considering the applieationt of the Order of DeMolay, for a dance permit for December 26th, 1924, and any other business that the said Common Council might deem proper. ' The application of the Order of DeMolay, for permit to hold, give end conduce a public dance in the'Masonic,Temple, on December 26th, 1924, was read. Alderman Lentmon introduced a resolution granting permit to the Order of D eMolay to hold, give and' conduct a public dancd in the Vasoni-c Temple on December 26th, 19249 and i1xing the fee at the sum of $1.00, which was read. Upon motion by Lemmon second by Wright that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Pro Tem Codk declared the said 'resolution duly passed and adopted. Alderman Kitzman came in at this time and took his Chair. Alderman Newhouse introduced a resolution appropriating $2000.00 from the Street and Alley Fund for use of the Street and Alley Committee, which was read. Upon motion by Newhouse second by Roeder that the said resolution be adopted as read, and all voting in favor thereof, President Pro Tem Cook declared the said resolution duly passed and adopted. On motion by Newhouse second by Lemmon Council adjourned. ILI r
