Dear Sir:
SA memo of remonstrance against dunping
grounds in the Southwbstern part of the city has
reached this Department from your office;
I might say that remonstrance had been
made in connection with dunping grounds in several
parts of the city. It has been the practise in the
Citp to allow dunping at other locations than the
official dumping grounds,-idsually with the purpose
of filling in street loeationso This is not objection-
able from the standpoint of this office but once '
dumping is allowed any place other than the official
dumping grounds then individuals are going to dump
wherever they choose and are also going to dump things
of an objectionable nature as well as street building
material,
The efforts of this office in this con-
nection is practically limited to the putting up of
signs and if any further action is needed it will be
necessary to detail additional employees to see that
this dumping is not carried on in an objectionable
mane %x e
