Meeting called to order by President Weeks. Roll call: Present: Sleeks, Hicks, Kitzman, Postier, Schroeder.. lAbsent: Adler, Bach. On motion by Kitzman second by Hicks the minutes of meeting; held on Au,�;ust Oth, 1926, and August 16th, 19N6, were approved. Public hearing was'had- on the construction of the Sanitary Sewer Qf� Seventh Street Northwest, commencing at, the center of the intersection of Seventh Street Northwest and Sixth Avenue Northwest and running Northwesterly to a point 792 f6et least of the east line of Eleventh Avenue Northwest. There was no person present who wished to be heard concerning the above described Sanitary Sewer. This being the .time and place fixed for the opening and reading of proposals .for the construction of the above described Sanitary Sewer, the following bids were openE;d and read: WILLIAM C. ' On motion bykKitzman second by Schroeder,the above bids were referred to the City Engineer for tabulation and recommendations; John R. Anderson asked for permission to, construct Sanitary sewer for his property�in Fifth Street Southeast, west of First Place Southeast and on (motion by Schroeder second by Postier, permission was granted with the provision lithat the installation be made under the supervision of the City Engineer. i I� 142 J Alderman Adler came in at, this time and took his Mhair; A petitior_signed by Geo. Alseth and Fred Altona as trustee of the Alseth estate asking that a water main be laid in the boulevard on the west side of Fourteenth Avenue Southwest between SixthStreet Southwest and Seventh Street Southwest, was read and on motion by Schroeder second by ieks it was ordered that the City Clerk prepare a resolution authori,ing the Public Utility Board to make an installation accordingly. The application of the Queen City Club for permission to hold, give and conduct public dances in the A.O.U.W. Hiall on September 4th and 18th, 1926 as read, The application of H. Lipschitz for a Junk Dealers' license was read and on motion by Hicks second by Kitzman, license was granted; all voting in favor thereof except:_Agdermah Schroeder, who voted "Nay", The Junk Dealer's License bond of H. Lipshitz, with Sam Sternberg nd J. Gelfand as suretle�s thereon, each in the amount of $1,000,00 was read nd on motion by Adler second by Hicks the said sureties were accepted, said b bond was approved and it was ordered that the same be placed on file; all 0 oting in favor thereof except, Alderman Schroeder, who voted "Nay". The petition of the Schuster Realty Company, Nelson Motor Sales ompany, B. Amundson, Edward R. H, Armstrong. 143 Alderman Schroeder introduced a resolution determining to.adhere to a I former resolutionspassed end aoppted in the proceedings for the constructionof i i the above described sanitary sewer in part of Seventh Street Northwest, which was read,, ; I On Lotion by Postier second by Hicks that the said resolution he adopted as rjead,'I 1 C and all voting in favor of it, Dresident Weeks declared said resolution duly passed t and adopted. i Alderman Postier introduced a resolution gtanting Public Dance Permit to the Queen City Club to hold; give and conduct public dances in the A.O.U.1%7. )fall on Uptember 4th and 18th, 1926, and fixing the fee at the sum of $2.00, which was dread. On motion by Kitzman second by Postier that the said resolution be adopted as read and all votingti_n favor thereof, President Weeks declared said resolution duly passed and adopted: 61 Alderman Schroeder introduced a resolution accepting the above mentioned 1proposal of VOIX. Fraser & Son fvr the construction of the Sanitary sewer in part of Seventh Street Northwest and fixtdg the amount of the bond to be given by the said contractor at the sum of $1950,400, which was read; On motion by Adler second by Schroeder that, the said resolution be adopted as read and P11 voting in favor thereof, President Weeks declared the said resolu— tion duly passed and adopted; On motion by Schroeder second by Hicks it was ordered that the certified checks of the unsuccessful bidders for the construction of the above described sanitary sewer be returned to them; the following remonstrance relative to the business and buildings of the Rochester Egg p,c Poultry Company was read and on motion by Adler second by Hicks it was referred tq the local Fire Chief and the State Fire Marshall and the Cite Clerk was ordered and directed to release the silo remonstrance to them: ' "August 16, 1926. On motion by Adler second by Hicks the City clerk was instructed to draw proceedings for the vacation of the above described part of Seventh Street South- west - The following report of the Street & Alley Committee was read and Presid Weeks ordered that the s:me be placed on file: "Hon. Your committee in regard to the Allay in the rear of the John Henchel Property, wish to report that an agreement was made between Mr. Henchel and Dr. O'Connor which was satisfactory to Mr. Henchel, so that no further action need be taken at this time in regard to this alleye H. It has been the practise in the Citp to allow dunping at other locations than the official dumping grounds,-idsually with the purpose of filling in street loeationso This is not objection- able from the standpoint of this office but once ' dumping is allowed any place other than the official dumping grounds then individuals are going to dump wherever they choose and are also going to dump things of an objectionable nature as well as street building material, The efforts of this office in this con- nection is practically limited to the putting up of signs and if any further action is needed it will be necessary to detail additional employees to see that this dumping is not carried on in an objectionable mane %x e DCL: ma Yours verytruly, DQ C.
