Minutes of an adjourned regular meeting of the Common Council of the
City of Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers, in the City
Hall, in said City, on November 8th, 19263% at 7:30 o'clock. P. M.

Roll Call: Present: Weeks, Adler, Bach, Hicks, Kitzman, Postier,

held on October 11th., 1926, were approved.
The report of the City Engineer for the month of October, 1921i,
showing expenditures from the General Fund for labor of '170.71, from
the Street and Alley Fund Sj'a3379,47, from the Sewer Fund t)233.00, and from
the Permanent Improvement Revolving wund $192,50, was read, and President
Weeks ordered that the same be placed on file.
The report of the Building and Electrical Inspector for the month
of October, 1926, showing building inspection fees collected in the amount
of 3149,00, and electrical inspection fees collected in the amount of
'622,00, was read, and,President Weeks referred the same to the Finance

via ; read, end President Weeks ordered that the same.be. placed on file.
The report of the Clerk of the Municipal Court for the week ending
October 18th, 1926, showing criminal fines collected in the amount of

received in the amount of '155.20, and '1142.00 due to Olmsted County for
CogAA+ fines collected; for the week ending October 25-th., 1926, criminal

Upon motion by Bach second by Tricks the sum of �80.00 was q.ppropfi-
ated from the Street and Alley Fund and it was ordered that the same be
Paid to Otto Wilke for compensation for injury during the period October
Sth, 1926,� to No -ember 4th, 1926"
President Weeks submitted the request of Captain Graen that the
sks ing rink license heretofore issued to Company C. be extended fifteen
(1) days, because the Armory has been used for otherpurposes
for that amount of time dl�ring the period of the license, A-kwhich motion
by Schroeder second by Bach carried that the said roller skating .aicbnse
be extended fifteen days.
The claim of James O'Conner 863.$3 for services as Special 1 atrolman
October 1J th, 1926 to October .51st, 1926, inclusive, was read and on
motion by ,ritzman second by Adler the said sum was appropriated from the
General Fund and it was ordered that the same be paid to him for the
Purpose :mentioned; the said account being submitted for special attention
because of the fact that he did not qualify on his last appointment until'
the last two or three days of the -appointment..
Upon motion by Hicks second by Back the Chair was requested to fix ad
ate for a mass meeting at the Council Chambers in the City Hall for the
iscussion of the purchase of a .8oldier's 1hemorial field J and President
eeks accordingly named ,7:30 o'clock P. M. November 15th, 1926, as the
ate -and hour for such meeting.
Upon motion by Bach second by Hicks the sum,of:1810.00 was appropri-

The City Engineer submitted plans", profiles and specifications and
estimated costs for the construction of a surface drainage sewer in Third Street
Northeast from 2Tinth'Avenue .Northeast to Tenth Street Northeast, which were con-
sidered by the Common Council; the•said"estimate of cost being- 467.50.
The City Engineer submitted plans, profiles,speuifications and estimated
cost for �_ irfa.ee drainage sewer in Seventh Avenue Southeast, from Sixth Street
Southeast to. Bear Creek, which were considered by the Common Council; the said
estimate of cost being `�309.32. -
Alderman.Postier introduced the fo4owing resolution, which was read:
NHER MS, it is deemed expedient and necessary that a surface
drainage surer be constructed in Third Street Northeast, from Ninth Avenue
Northeast to Tenth -Avenue Northeast, and
W a,RIAS, Chas. H. Armstrong, City Engineer, has prepared and submitted
plans, profiles -and specifications for the construction of the said surface drainage
sewer, and
WHEREAS, the Said estimate of cost is four hundred sixty-seven Dollars
and fifty cents ($467.50),and
WHEREAS, as the estimated cost of said surface drainage sewer does
not e#eeed the limitations provided for in Section 276 of the Charter of said City;

Alderman Adler introduced a resolution appropriating

the Park Improvement Fund and ordered payment made to the - %yo Trust fund
for payment of pAy rolls for labor for weeks ending October 6th, 16th,
22nd, and 29th, 1926, $1116,55 , and 1,160.00 for the catching; and crating
of two buffalo, which was read.
