Minutes of a Special Meeting -of -the Common Council of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota, held in the Council Chambers,in the City Hall, in said City.,
on December r�th, 1926, at 1:00 o'clock P. M,
Meeting called to order by President.Weeks.
Roll Call: Present: Weeks, Adler, Bach,'Tlicks, kitzman, Schroeder. �. I
Absent: Postier.

The call for the special meeting was read; the said special. meeting

being c:,:lled. for the purpose of consideration of,the situation brought about by
the cancellation by the Western Surety Company of the .official bond of Mrs. Mary

A. Anderson, as City Treasurer, and such -other business as the said Co-,zimn Council

The following telegram was read, and President Weeks ordered that the
same be placed on f ile :

that the only reason offered by her Uompany for the cancellation of "this bond is
that two of the loc^.1 banks have furnished personal sureties for their depository
b onds
After a further discussion of the matter during; which Clarence 0. Brown
stated that he was quite sure that his 7,13onding ,Company would write a bond for Mrs.
Anderson, it ,(as informally agreed.that Mrs. Anderson should retain the custody of
the CitSrus Sinking Fund Investm(ints and Funds, at which Alderman Schroeder demanded
that r cord be made of his opposition to such a plan, in -so-far as the, cancellation
of har officiz�l bond laves her not duly qu&lified as City Treasurer.
A -motion by Bach second by Hicks, carried that the kkeir to the City
safe depozit box be left In the custody of I.1rs. ?•,Iary A. Anderson and that the City
Clerk notify the FJ..L•st State Bank and Trust Company tb.a.t they will allow no person
access thereto until further notice, and that the City Clerk notify all local banks

The application of tr.e Y. W. C. A. for permit to hold, giveand
conduct a public d^lnce in the Masonic Temple on December 16th, 1926,
was read. ,
Alderman TTi.ckq, reporting in the matter of the 'claim -of Et<irs.
1 . WiJ_liams, ``9.00 for house cleaning at the Witherstine house, orally
reco.:;;n-nded that t}pis claim be p6id, and on motion by Ricks se�eond by
Adler the sum of ".1.00 was appropriated from the General Fund and it was
ordered that the . same be : paid to ?;irs. F. Williatiis for her claim. ',`h9.00
for 20 hours labor house cleaning; at ,.45 per hour.

Alderman TTicks introduced a, resolution ar^:nting public dance permit,.
to the Y. W. C. A, for to - hold, give and conduct a public dance at the
Nfasonic Temple, Dece.iiber 16t.h, 1926, and fixing the fee at *00, which
was read,
Upon motion by Hicks second. by Each that the said resolution be
adopted as read and all voting; in' favor thereof, President Weeks declared
thc; saiu resolution duly passed and adopted.
