RESOLUTION
2018 Program of Projects
A Resolution authorizing the filing of an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation/
Federal Transit Administration and Minnesota Department of Transportation, for grants under
Title 49 U.S.C., Sections 5307 and 5339.
WHEREAS, the Secretary of the US Department of Transportation and the
Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation are authorized to make grants for
mass transportation projects; and
WHEREAS, the contracts for financial assistance will impose certain obligations upon
the applicant, including the provision by it of the local project costs; and
WHEREAS, it is required by the U.S. Department of Transportation in accord with the
provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, that in connection with the filing of an
application for assistance the Applicant gives an assurance that it will comply with Title VI of the
Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other pertinent directives and the U.S. Department of
Transportation requirements there under;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Rochester, Minnesota:
1. That the Transit and Parking Manager for the City of Rochester, Minnesota is authorized to
file the required applications on behalf of the City of Rochester, Minnesota with the U.S.
Department of Transportation /Federal Transit Administration and Minnesota Department of
Transportation to aid in the operations of transit services including; financial operating
assistance, purchase of bus transit vehicles and/or the planning, development, and construction
of bus transit-related facilities.
2. That the City Attorney and Transit and Parking Manager are authorized to execute and file
any certifications, assurance or any other document required by the U.S. Department of
Transportation /Federal Transit Administration and Minnesota Department of Transportation
effectuating the purposes of these grants.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Rochester, Minnesota are authorized to execute
any subsequent grant agreements on behalf of the City of Rochester, Minnesota with the U.S.
Department of Transportation and the Minnesota Department of Transportation..
