HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 268-18 - Award of Contract J46911 Rehab of 48th St NW 20180716 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the following improvement(s): J46911, thst Rehabilitation of 48 St NW from 31 Ave NW to TH 52 E Frontage Rd, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Alcon Construction $225,573.85 Swenke Ins Contracting, LLC $257,531.86 Elcor Construction, Inc. $267,286.18 A-1 Excavating $282,962.50 Pember Companies $303,155.00; and WHEREAS, it appears that Alcon Construction is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: (1) That the bid of $225,573.85is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute the standard City contract for construction with Alcon Construction in th the name of the City of Rochester for the following local improvements J46911, Rehabilitation of 48 St st NW from 31 Ave NW to TH 52 E Frontage Rd, according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the Common Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. (2) The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed. All contracts shall be executed by the bidder within ten days after the contract is ready for his signature, and if not executed by him in said time, he shall be deemed to have abandoned the same.
