HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 310-18 - PublicTransitGarage.StateBondingFund RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the 2018 Regular Session of the Minnesota Legislature enacted Laws of Minnesota 2018, Chapter 214, Article 1, Section 16, Subdivision 17 relating to Capital Improvement Appropriations; and, WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has allocated $2.5 million from the General Obligation Bond Proceeds to the City as a grant for the expansion of the City’s transit bus garage located at 4300 East River Road N.E., Rochester, Minnesota; and, WHEREAS, the City of Rochester has the legal authority to enter into said agreement with the State Department of Transportation pursuant to Minnesota Statute Chapter 412.211. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester that the City: 1. Authorize proper City officers to execute the General Obligation Bond Grant Agreement with the State of Minnesota to enable receipt of award funding; 2. As part of the 2018 and 2019 capital budgets commit up to $3.8 million as its share of local funds needed to fully fund the project. 3. Agree to cover any costs that exceed the amount of funds provided by the State of Minnesota as necessary to complete the project. In compliance with the City of Rochester Home Rule Charter, the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute this Agreement on behalf of the City.
