Home My WebLink AboutResolution No. 136-19 - Award of Contract J6695 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the following improvement(s): J6695 S torm Sewer Pipe Extension for Century Hills 8th and 9th, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Alcon Excavating Inc $194,635.10 Elcor Construction, Inc $197,594.00 Rochester Asphalt $222,262.00 Pember Companies $287,285.50 A-1 Excavating, Inc. $329,235.00 KATS Excavating, LLC $388,750.50 Engineers Estimate $225,270.00; and WHEREAS, it appears that Alcon Excavating Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: (1) That the unit price of $194,635.10 is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute the standard City contract for construction with Alcon Excavating Inc. in the name of the City of Rochester for the following local improvements J6695 S torm Sewer Pipe Extension for Century Hills 8th and 9th, according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the Common Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. (2) The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed. All contracts shall be executed by the bidder within ten days after the contract is ready for his signature, and if not executed by him in said time, he shall be deemed to have abandoned the same.
