HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 132-19 - Cascade Lake Improvements Bonding Resolution RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the process of submitting requests for State of Minnesota Capital Bonding Funds requires communities to provide a resolution from the governing body of the applicant; and WHEREAS, the City recently adopted a Park System Plan which guides the City’s park system; and WHEREAS, the completion of the Cascade Lake Park in one of the highest priorities outline in the Plan; and WHEREAS, the proposed project includes an Amphitheater, the Park Pavilion, entrance circle, Art/Sculpture, and play areas that will enhance the improvements the City has already invested in; and WHEREAS, Cascade Lake Park is a master planned regional park consisting of over 225 acres created out of the reclamation of a sand mining area. The park was first conceptualized in approximately 1969 but was more formally refined in the 1990’s and again in the early 2000s. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Rochester hereby states its strong support for the 2020 Capital Bonding request for Cascade Lake Park Improvement needs as City’s third bonding priority for 2020.
