HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 183-19 - Declaring the Med City Arts Festival a Community Festival RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Sec. 5-19-5(b) of the Rochester Code of Ordinances (“R.C.O.”) states that specified on sale intoxicating liquor licensees may dispense intoxicating liquor off premises at a Community Festival held with the City of Rochester; and, WHEREAS, R.C.O. §5-19-5(b) defines a “Community Festival” to mean a community event celebrating the people, history, food, culture, music or events of the City of Rochester as declared by resolution of the Common Council; and, WHEREAS, the Med City Arts Festival, occurring September 14, 2019, on Third Street Southwest between Broadway and First Avenue and on First Avenue between Fourth Street and Second Street engages the community in the arts with a festival featuring cultural dance, improv-comedy, poetry slam, music, art classes, demonstrations, interactive art and.is a community event celebrating the people, history, food, culture, music or events of the City of Rochester; and, WHEREAS, the City of Rochester Common Council wishes to declare the Med City Arts Festival event as a Community Festival. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, that the Council, pursuant to R.C.O. §5-19-5(b) does hereby declare the Med City Arts Festival event as a Community Festival.
