CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY NEWS
Workforce Development, Inc.
On Tuesday, June 23, students
enrolled in Workforce Development,
Inc. construction trades course
toured Heart of the City and M16-21
Sewer Siphon projects. All of the
students who took the Ramsey
Mechanical Aptitude Test passed
and are now eligible to join the
Operating Engineer’s Union and
work for an OE union contractor.
We are collaborating on
sponsorship packages for local
construction companies to invest in
diverse workforce recruitment.
WSB Opportunity+ Program
In 2019, WSB launched an inclusive
training program for construction
materials testing and surveying. Nine
students graduated in May 2020.

At the end of July, Jorrie Johnson
met virtually with Lynn R. Littlejohn,

Workforce Participation goals.
Discovery Walk
On August 26, Jorrie Johnson met
virtually with Tony Joseph, Project
Development Director in Rochester,
and Romana Wilson, Diversity
Director for Knutson Construction,
about Knutson Alliance Program for
minority subcontractors and scope
set-asides for Discovery Walk.
