The City of Rochester and
Destination Medical Center are
partnering with Winona State University
Adult & Continuing Education to offer
Inclusive Workforce Practices: Why You
Need a Workforce Participation Plan
online workshop on January 20, 2021,
from 2-3 p.m. This workshop is for CEOs,
presidents, vice presidents, managers,
recruiters, DEI / EEO / AA officers, and
other human resource generalists and
specialists across multiple sectors who
want to learn how to make workforce
diversity support organizational success.
Minnesota’s largest economic
development initiative, Destination
Medical Center and the City of Rochester
want to ensure equitable opportunities
for contractors and the workforce.
Beginning in 2021, the City of Rochester
will require Workforce Participation Work
Plans with bids on Destination Medical
Center projects.
Sybil L. Dunlop, a national
thought leader on diversity, equity, and
inclusion (DEI) issues will be facilitating
the workshop. Dunlop helped found
Greene Espel’s Diversity & Inclusion
practice which helps workplaces design
and implement DEI programs to meet
organizational goals.

Rochester Area Residents Work on Environmental Analysis for RT Project
Braun Intertec is a nation-wide professional geotechnical,
environmental consulting and testing firm. The company is
contracted through SRF Consulting to conduct field analysis
for Rochester Rapid Transit project (J8707) and is assist with Phase 2 of the
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). This additional investigation is
being conducted to determine if potential environmental issues exist.
There are more than twenty professionals employed by Braun Intertect
working on this project. Seven of them are Rochester area residents: Bret
Bender, Julie Herrera-Lemler, Mark Kalahar, Jacob Lange, Jill Mickelson and
Nicole Neth. Erin Borgschatz, no longer with Braun Intertec, also worked on
this project. * Results are cumulative April 2017 –October 2020.
