Home My WebLink AboutResolution No. 155-20 - Contract Award Sanitary Sewer Diversion Project J7830 RESOLUTION Awarding Contract for Project No. J7830 – Sanitary Sewer Diversion Project WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the following improvement(s): J7830 1st ST NW Sanitary Sewer Diversion from 1st AVE NW to Broadway AVE N, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Amount Elcor Construction, Inc $1,743,962.23 A-1 Excavating, Inc. $2,494,107.55 Geislinger and Sons, Inc. $2,792,696.00 Meyer Contracting Inc. $3,116,724.45 ; and WHEREAS, it appears that Elcor Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota: (1) That bid of $1,743,962.23 is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute the standard City contract for construction with Elcor Construction, Inc. in the name of the City of Rochester for the following local improvements J7830 1 ST NW Sanitary Sewer Diversion from 1st AVE NW to Broadway AVE N, according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the Common Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. (2) The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed. All contracts shall be executed by the bidder within ten days after the contract is ready for his signature, and if not executed by him in said time, he shall be deemed to have abandoned the same.
