(WDI), in partnership with City of Rochester, Destination Medical Center (DMC), Laborers Union Local 405, and Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), is offering a free four-week highway and heavy construction training course in June focused on minorities, women, and disadvantaged individuals. The training is part of a $100,000 award from MnDOT for highway heavy construction training, recruitment, screening and placement. Most of the subcontractors on the North Broadway project plan on meeting the workforce participation goals. PCi Roads, subcontractor of Chippewa Concrete, the largest subcontractor on the North Broadway project, plans on meeting the workforce participation goals. PCi Roads recruits from women and minority sources, labor unions and asking their current women and minority workforce to help recruit. Recognizing Asian American Professionals Contributions TARGETED BUSINESS AND WORKFORCE PARTICIPATION MONTHLY REPORT Asian Americans represent the largest minority group working on the Rapid Transit project, performing 450 hours (2.4%) of the total project hours to date.
