The Federal Transit Administration rating for Downtown Rochester
Rapid Transit was announced as Medium-High. City of Rochester
Project Manager Jarrett Hubbard says, "This was the expected score
from the August 2020 application to the FTA’s Capital Investment
Grants (CIG) Small Starts Program. The positive rating comes on the
heels of being listed in the President’s proposed budget." For details,

National Association of Women in Construction
(NAWIC) Southeast Minnesota chapter is hosting
its annual golf outing fundraiser that helps support
construction educational opportunities for women.

Fundraiser
The City of Rochester proposal to improve
economic mobility for BIPOC women
through careers in construction has been
accepted by Bloomberg Philanthropies as
one of 50 cities (out of 630 worldwide) to
move forward in the 2021 Global Mayors
Challenge as a Champion City. Thank you to
all community partners who provided
information for the proposal. We are now in
the research planning phase of the project.
The the final application is due in October.
Rochester Residents are
25% of Workforce on
North Broadway Project
Elcor Construction has self-performed 82% of the total hours worked
on the North Broadway project (March-May 2021). More than 25% of
the company's workforce on the project lives in Rochester.
There are not official locally-owned or local resident workforce
participation goals on DMC projects. However, there was consideration
for locally-owned subcontracts on Heart of the City. There will also be
consideration for contracts with locally-owned companies on on
Discovery Walk project.
