Perkins & Will is being contracted by the City of Rochester and DMC
to develop conceptual designs for a new 6th Street bridge. Perkins &
Will submitted a Workforce Participation Plan for the project with more
than 1700 total hours, estimating 38% will be performed by minority
people and 15% by women.
Conversely, on the SRF A&E Rapid Transit project (over 36,000 hours
completed), 13.5% has been performed by minority people and 32%
has been performed by women. An additional subcontract with
4RM+ULA will increase the minority participation on this project.

In June, Rochester was announced as a Bloomberg
2021 Global Mayors Challenge Champion City,
one of 50 cities out of over 600 applicants worldwide.
Focusing on economic recovery and growth, the City
hopes to address health, income, and labor disparities
deepened by COVID-19, for Black, Indigenous,
and People of Color (BIPOC) women.

Professional Services Workforce Participation
Hispanic/Latin American
Construction Workforce
From April 2017 through the end of 2019,
Hispanic/Latin American people performed
approximately 10% of the hours worked on
Destination Medical Center (DMC) projects.
In 2021 and 2022, there have been 228
Hispanic/Latin American workers (10% of total)
working on DMC projects. 17% of the Alatus
Housing project workforce was Hispanic /Latin
American (H/LA). 15% of the construction workers
on Civic on First/Hyatt House project were H/LA.
Active projects have 7% H/LA workforce.
Indigenous Peoples Day is
October 11, 2021. This is the third
year since the holiday replaced
Columbus Day in Minnesota.
