RESOLUTION
Authorizing a Contract for the 2022 Sanitary Sewer and Water Extension for Hiawatha Court
NE - Project No. J7844.
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the following improvement(s): Project No.
J7844 2022 Sanitary Sewer and Water Extension for Hiawatha Court NE, the following bids were
received complying with the advertisement:
Alcon Excavating Inc $464,440.20
Pember Companies, Inc $526,141.35
Elcor Construction, Inc. $598,900.00; and
WHEREAS, it appears that Alcon Excavating Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
Minnesota, that the bid of $464,440.20 is hereby accepted and execution of the standard City
contract for construction with Alcon Excavating Inc, is authorized for the following approved local
improvements: Project No. J7844 2022 Sanitary Sewer and Water Extension for Hiawatha Court
NE; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to return to all bidders the deposits
made with their bids, except the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder, which
shall be retained until the contract has been executed; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the bidder shall execute all contracts within ten days after the
contract is ready for their signature, and if not executed by them in said time, they shall be deemed
to have abandoned the same.
