HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 4476 Ordinance - Concrete Sidewalks, Driveways, Curbs and Gutters, Sec. 9-18 ORDINANCE NO___________ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TITLE OF CHAPTER 9-18, AND AMENDING SECTIONS 9-18-1, 9-18-4 AND PARAGRAPH (a) OF SECTION 9-18-2 OF TITLE 9 OF THE ROCHESTER CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATING TO CONCRETE SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS, CURBS AND GUTTERS. THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER ORDAINS: Section 1. Title Chapter 9-18 of Title 9 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: CHAPTER 9-18. CONCRETE SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS, APPROACHES, CURBS AND GUTTERS Section 2. Section 9-18-1 of Chapter 9-18 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 9-18-1. – License – Required. No licensee shall engage in the business of constructing or altering any building or rebuilding concrete or asphalt sidewalks, driveways approaches, or curbs and gutters in the streets, alleys or public grounds without first being licensed under this chapter. A separate license shall be required for concrete and asphalt construction, respectively. Section 3. Section 9-18-4 of Chapter 9-18 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 9-18-4. License – Fee. The annual fee, including any additional fees for late renewal, for licenses to construct or alter build or rebuild concrete or asphalt sidewalks, driveways approaches and curbs and gutters in the streets, alleys and public grounds of the city shall be established by resolution of the city council. All licenses shall expire on December 31 of the license year unless sooner suspended or revoked by the council. Section 4. Paragraph (a) of Section 9-18-2 of Chapter 9-18 of the Rochester Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 9-18-2 – License – Application. (a) Any person desiring to engage in the business of constructing or altering any building or rebuilding concrete or asphalt sidewalks, driveways approaches, or curbs and gutters in the city shall apply to the council for a license to carry on said business. The council shall issue a license only if it determines that the license applicant has satisfied all of the licensing requirements found in subsection (b) of this section. Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective from and after its publication.
