RESOLUTION
Authorizing a Contract with Kraus-Anderson Construction for the 2022 Downtown
Energy Building Transition –MCC/ART - Project No. J1037.
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the following improvement(s): 2022
Downtown Energy Building Transition – MCC/ART - Project No. J1037, the following bids
were received complying with the advertisement:

Kraus-Anderson $2,623,000.00 $46,600.00 $2,669,600.00
Knutson Construction $2,823,000.00 $40,000.00 $2,863,000.00
; and
WHEREAS, it appears that Kraus-Anderson Construction Company is the lowest
responsive and responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
Minnesota, that the bid of $2,669,600 is hereby accepted and execution of the standard City
contract for construction with Kraus-Anderson Construction Company, is authorized for the
following approved local improvements: 2022 Downtown Energy Building Transition –
MCC/ART - Project No. J1037; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to return to all bidders the
deposits made with their bids, except the deposits of the successful bidder and the next
lowest bidder, which shall be retained until the contract has been executed; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the bidder shall execute all contracts within ten days
after the contract is ready for their signature, and if not executed by them in said time, they
shall be deemed to have abandoned the same.
