HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 275-137 S J3 • RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City is obligated to maintain and improve the condition of its water resources; and, WHEREAS, a joint water utility ,demonstration project that addresses water conservation and sustainability that will increase citizen understanding of how to improve water quality and quantity; and, WHEREAS, the City's efforts are magnified when its three utilities collaborate on water resource projects that involve surface water, groundwater, and wastewater issues; and, WHEREAS, the City will learn from participating residents and businesses how to effectively spread water resource protection messages; WHEREAS, through its Storm Water Capital Improvement Project budget process, the City has reserved grant match funds; and, WHEREAS, seeking grant funds leverages limited storm water utility revenues. • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Rochester Common Council that it does . hereby approve the submittal of a "Neighbors and Utilities United for Water Sustainability" application to the Legislative -Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources by June 7, 2013 with a commitment of $127,000 (cash, a 26% match of funds requested) and $75,000 (in -kind) over the two and a half year, term of the project.
