WHEREAS, the City of Rochester supports the grant application made to the Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources for the Parks and Trails Legacy Grant Program. The
application is to construct 0.2 miles of paved trail for the Rochester Trail Link to connect the
790 residents in the neighborhoods served by the Ponderosa Drive S.W., Woodcrest Lane,
S.W., Brook Lane S.W., and Lenwood Drive S.W., residential streets to the City of Rochester
Trail System. The trail system is located within rights of way to be secured for the trail; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Rochester recognizes the 25 percent match requirement for the
Trail Legacy grant program, of which Federal Transportation Alternative Program funds may
be used.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Rochester Common Council that,
if the City of Rochester is awarded a grant by the Minnesota Department of Natural resources,
the City of Rochester agrees to accept the grant award, and may enter into an agreement with
the State of Minnesota for the above referenced project. The City of Rochester will comply
with all applicable laws, environmental requirements and regulations as stated in the grant
agreement.
• BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Rochester names the fiscal agent for the
City of Rochester for this project as:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Rochester hereby assures the Douglas
Cascade Trail Segment of the City of Rochester Trail System will be maintained for a period of
no less than 20 years.
