WHEREAS, the City of Rochester has a strong commitment to addressing energy
conservation, greenhouse gas emissions, and other energy-related issues, demonstrated by its
commitment to transit, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities; its investment in alternative energy
sources and energy conservation; its facilities management practices; and its appointment of the
Energy Commission; and,
WHEREAS, Rochester is committed to creating and maintaining a healthy community
encouraging healthy and active lifestyles.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Rochester Common Council that it
does hereby authorize the City of Rochester through its Energy Commission, staff by its
Planning Department, to participate in the Minnesota GreenCorps program and supports the
application for GreenCorps funding.
