WHEREAS, the Rochester City Council wishes to provide for an efficient and standard
process for the annual performance evaluation and salary adjustment for the city administrator
position similar to that currently in place for all city department head positions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Rochester that the Personnel Advisory Committee is hereby authorized and directed to
conduct the annual performance evaluation of the city administrator, and to establish the
amount, if any, of the annual salary adjustment for that position so long as the adjustment is
consistent with the applicable salary adjustment guidelines established by the Council for all
city department heads.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, if the Personnel Advisory Committee determine the
annual salary adjustment for the city administrator should exceed the applicable salary
adjustment guidelines established by the Council for all city department heads, prior Council
approval must be obtained.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, if the Personnel Advisory Committee determine the
city administrator's benefit package should increase in scope from: (a) what the city
•administrator currently receives or (2) what the Council has approved for department heads,
prior Council approval must be obtained.
