WHEREAS, the City of Rochester supports the grant application made to the Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources for the Local Trails Connections Grant Program and for the
Federal Recreational Trail Grant Program. The application is to construct 700 feet of paved
trail for the 18th Avenue N.W., segment of the City of Rochester Trail System. The trail system
is located within public street right of way for 18th Avenue N.W., Rochester and Olmsted
County; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Rochester recognizes the 50 percent match requirement and
has secured for the State Trail Connections grant program, and has secured the matching
funds,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, if the City of Rochester is awarded a grant by
the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the City of Rochester agrees to accept the
grant award, and will enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota for the above
referenced project. The City of Rochester will comply with all applicable laws, environmental
requirements and regulations as stated in the grant agreement, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the City Council of the City of Rochester names the fiscal
ent for the City of Rochester for this project as:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Rochester hereby assures the 18th Avenue
NW segment of the City of Rochester Trail System will be maintained for a period of no less
than 20 years.
