HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 552-11 4 1 .. 1wr..rL •.•. n r..�I,'. • RESOLUTION RELATING TO MAYO CIVIC CENTER USE AGREEMENTS WHEREAS, a grant from the State of Minnesota requires that the Mayo Civic Center be utilized for a public governmental purpose and program; and, WHEREAS, the Mayo Civic Center is being utilized by the City of Rochester for a public governmental purpose and program; and, WHEREAS, there are a number of use agreements in place at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, Minnesota; and, WHEREAS, under the terms of the State Grant Agreement for Design Services for the future Mayo Civic Center expansion, the City is to review and approve the annual budgets for the use agreements at the Mayo Civic Center; and, WHEREAS, such review is intended to have the City determine that the annual revenues for the use agreements will equal or exceed the expenses for the use agreements; and, WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the budgets for the following use agreements at the Mayo Civic Center: (1) Concession Agreement with J and S of Rochester, Inc.; (2) Audio Visual Agreement with AVVR; (3) Rochester Convention and Visitors Bureau Agreement; and (4) Rochester Civic Theatre Agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester that: 1. The Rochester Mayor and Common Council have found that the Mayo Civic Center is being utilized for a public governmental purpose; 2. The Rochester Mayor and Common Council have reviewed the revenue and expenditure budgets for the concession agreement, audio-visual agreement, Rochester Convention and Visitors Bureau Agreement, and the Rochester Civic Theatre Agreement; 3. The Rochester Mayor and Common Council have determined for 2012 that the program revenues along with other funds available for the operation of the programs (from all sources) will be equal to or exceed program expenses; and, 4. The Rochester Mayor and Common Council hereby provide and transmit this Resolution to the State of Minnesota. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be directed to provide and transmit this Resolution to the State of Minnesota. • PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA, THIS /4 D OF' D- �m1; , 2011.
