• RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the following improvement(s): Project No.J-6595
"Quarry Hill Stream Stabilization Project—Phase II" and Project No.J-7772 "Parkwood Hills Sub-Trunkline
Sanitary Sewer—Phase II"to A-1 Excavating in the amount of$753,738.37 bids were received, opened and
tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement:
A-1 Excavating $753,738.37
Pember Company $813,283.95
Elcor Construction $1,073,753.72
Park Construction $1,161,290.11
Sunram Construction $1,188,858.66
and,
WHEREAS, it appears that A-1 Excavating of Bloomer,Wisconsin is the lowest responsive and responsible
bidder.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota:
(1)That the bid of$753,738.37 is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to execute the standard City contract for construction with A-1 Excavating of Bloomer,Wisconsin in the
name of the City of Rochester for the following local improvement(s): Project Nos.J-6595 and J-7772 according to
the plans and specifications therefore approved by the Common Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk.
(2)The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with
• their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract
has been executed.
All contracts shall be executed by the bidder within ten days after the contract is ready for his signature, and if
not executed by him in said time, he shall be deemed to have abandoned the same.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER,
MINNESOTA,THIS 20th DAY OF JANUARY,2010.
