HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 142-09 • RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Rochester supports and administers an effective flood plain management program through the enforcement of its Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the Rochester Zoning Ordinance is consistent with flood plain management standards established by the Department of Natural Resources of the State of Minnesota and the Federal Emergency Management Agency of the United States; and WHEREAS, CPDC Rochester Development, Inc., proposes to amend the Floodway boundaries on property located along the south side of Salem Road S.W., (CSAH 25), along the east side of Mayowood Road S.W., (County Road 125) and west of Salem Sound Development; and, WHEREAS, the attached exhibit identifies the property for which the request is made to amend the Floodway boundaries as part of an amendment to flood insurance maps adopted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in February 1998. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester that the City hereby supports the proposed amendment to the Floodway boundaries on property located along the south side of Salem Road S.W., (CSAH 25), along the east side of .Mayowood Road S.W., (County Road 125) and west of Salem Sound Development. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council intends to adopt an ordinance to amend the City of Rochester Zoning Ordinance to implement the proposed amendment if the proposal is deemed acceptable by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
