HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 053-06 a RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking candidates for local trail connection projects; and, WHEREAS, local trail connection projects are typically multi-use path projects connecting local facilities and neighborhoods; and, WHEREAS, these projects are funded through DNR grant funds; and, WHEREAS, the City of Rochester Public Works Department has identified the bituminous path parallel to East Circle Drive between CSAH 2 (near Century High School) and Highway 63 (North Broadway and East Circle Drive) as a good candidate for the local trail connection grant; and, WHEREAS, the City of Rochester Public Works Department has identified the path connection between the westerly end of Cascade Creek trail (near 16th Avenue N.W.) connecting to the path constructed as part of the Highway 52 reconstruction and located on the west side of the East Frontage Road at Fourth Street N.W, as a good candidate for the local trail •connection grant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Rochester hereby declares its support and sponsorship of the above-described path projects as candidates for a local trail connection grant. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer is authorized to file and administer the grant application, including a commitment to secure and guarantee the local share of the project costs including the construction costs, all the design and inspection costs and all of the right-of-way costs.
