P RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City is constructing an infiltration basin in Quarry Hill Park to reduce the volume of storm water passing through the Park; and WHEREAS, City staff desire to more conclusively evaluate the performance of this best management practice and its relationship to a nearby water supply well; and WHEREAS, the U.S. Geological Survey has agreed to provide a 40% matching grant to the City of Rochester in the amount of $7,4.49 to assess the water balance in the hydrologic system and characterize the infiltration below the basin; and WHEREAS, Rochester Public Utilities and the Rochester Public Works Department each agree to pay $5,587 to provide the 60% City match. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester that the City enter into an agreement with the U.S. Geological Survey to conduct monitoring of the Quarry Hill Park infiltration basin. The Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the agreement on •behalf of the City.
