HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 226-23 - Resolution - Agreements with Enterprise for Police Fleet Vehicles RESOLUTION Approving agreements with Enterprise Fleet Management for police department fleet vehicle needs. BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester as follows: WHEREAS, it is in the City’s best interest to enter into an agreement with Enterprise Fleet Management for the lease of police vehicles: WHEREAS, the benefits of leasing police vehicles, as opposed to purchasing them include: (1) police vehicle fleet budget stability; (2) reduces large capital outlay; (3) maximizes potential equity of vehicles at time of resale; (4) reduces average vehicles replacement time; (5) increases safety for police officers and community members; (6) reduces maintenance costs; (7) provides for a more fuel efficient police fleet. WHEREAS, the City desires to initially lease 17 police vehicles with an additional 8 vehicles for police investigations; WHEREAS, City staff and the City Attorney have reviewed the proposed Agreements and are agreeable to the terms; WHEREAS, the City Council hereby approves the Agreements, being in the best interest of the City to lease police vehicles from Enterprise Management. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council in and for the City of Rochester as follows: that the City enter into the necessary agreements with Enterprise Management for the lease of necessary police fleet vehicles; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute all agreements with Enterprise for the lease of police fleet vehicles PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA, THIS __________ DAY OF _______________, 2023. ___________________________________ PRESIDENT OF SAID COMMON COUNCIL ATTEST: __________________________ CITY CLERK APPROVED THIS _____ DAY OF ______________________, 2022. ___________________________________ MAYOR OF SAID CITY (Seal of the City of Rochester, Minnesota)
