HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 035-24 - Resolution - Discontinuation of Transportation Improvement District Fees RESOLUTION Approving the Discontinuation of Transportation Improvement District Fees. WHEREAS, the City of Rochester created a program to help defray the public cost for transportation – infrastructure improvements made because of development, which involved collection by the City of Transportation Improvement District (“TID”) fees; and WHEREAS, due to an interpretation of limitations on the statutory authority of Minnesota cities to collect fees under the subdivision approval section of the Municipal Planning Act, the City has stopped collecting or invoicing TID fees; and WHEREAS, the City of Rochester, going forward, will no longer collect or invoice for Transportation Improvement District (“TID”) fees. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester that the City Council approves the discontinuation of collecting or invoicing of Transportation Improvement District (“TID”) fees.
