RESOLUTION
Amending the Designated Polling Places for the August 13, 2024, and November 5,
2024, Elections.
WHEREAS, State statute 204B.16 outlines that should a polling place become
unavailable, municipalities may make changes to already established locations; and
WHEREAS, three polling places have become unavailable since the passage of the
prior December 11, 2023, Resolution that designated polling places for 2024; and
WHEREAS, due to construction impacts at John Marshall High School - Ward 2,
Precincts 5, 6, and 7, will be moved to Harriet Bishop Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, due to construction impacts at Kellogg Middle School - Ward 5, Precincts 7,
8, and 11, will be moved to Jefferson Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, due to capacity issues at Church of the Resurrection - Ward 4, Precincts 10
and 12, will be moved to Mayo High School; and
WHEREAS, voters in Ward 2, Precincts 5, 6, and 8; Ward 5, Precincts 7, 8, and 11; and
Ward 4, Precincts 10 and 12, must be reassigned to different polling places expeditiously
so that voters may be notified and the State may update the poll finder with the most
accurate information.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
that the City does hereby designate the following amended list of locations as polling
places in the City of Rochester, Minnesota, for the elections being held on August 13,
2024, and November 5, 2024.
