Green = Exceeds goal Black = On or near goal (+/-2%) Red = Does not meet goal Upcoming Projects Water Reclamation Plant Josh DeFrang Recognized as Equity in Development SUPERHERO City of Rochester Project Manager Josh DeFrang was recently recognized by teammates for ensuring equity through Targeted Business (TB) contracting on Destination Medical Center funded projects. He managed the Chateau Theatre Restroom Renovation project in 2023 that yielded 13.8% ($52K) in TB and Small Business Enterprise contracts. DeFrang has been managing the LINK Rapid Transit project with equity-conscience. The construction management services portion of the LINK project has 19.2% ($1,380,600) in Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) contracts. He’s been involved in the DBE goal-setting process and strategic planning to meet DBE goals for the construction phase of the LINK Rapid Transit project. What motivates DeFrang to ensure projects provide equitable opportunities? He shares, “It motivates me to make it important because many people say it’s too hard, or too much work.” Earlier in his career, DeFrang worked for a certified disadvantaged business and he learned first-hand the challenges and commitment of small businesses.
