110. MOVING PICTURE SHOWS
110.01. License Required.. No person shall hold, exhibit, conduct or carry on any
moving picture show in the city without being licensed under this chapter.
110.02. Application and Issuance. Application for such license shall be made to the
city clerk on a form supplied by the city, which form shall disclose the name and address of
the applicant and such other information as shall be required. Said application shall be
accompanied by a valid Fire Department permit which confirms that the theatre is in
compliance with applicable fire regulations. The application shall be presented to the council,
and if approved, a license shall be issued by the city clerk upon payment of the license fee.
110.03. License Fee. The license fee for a moving picture theater is $50.00 per year.
110.04. Expiration. Annual licenses shall be issued for a calendar year and shall
expire on December 31 of the license year.
110.05. Exits. Exits shall conform to the Rochester Uniform Building Code, RCO 50 or
Rochester Fire Code, RCO 55, whichever is applicable. All exits shall have panic hardware
and shall swing in the direction of egress. All chairs and seats shall be firmly fastened to the
floor. All aisles and passageways shall be kept free and clear of any and all obstructions.
110.06. Fire Department Permit Required. All applicable sections of the Fire Code
shall be effective at all times. The required Fire Department Permit shall be issued upon
inspection and approval by this Department of the Theatre, Place of Assembly Permit Section
26.101. This permit is required to be renewed annually and is non-transferable.
