HomeMy WebLinkAboutCHAPTER 118 CHAPTER 118. TREE MAINTENANCE ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Updated 2015 118-1 118. TREE MAINTENANCE 118.01. License Required. It is unlawful for any person to engage in the business for hire of trimming, pruning, removing, falling, bracing, fertilizing, spraying or otherwise treating any tree on public or private property without first being licensed under this chapter. 118.02. Application. Any person desiring a license under this chapter shall make written application to the City Clerk’s Office on a form to be provided by the City, which application shall include the name and address of th e applicant, whether the applicant is an individual, partnership, corporation, or other business entity, the number of employees, and such other information as the City may require. The license application shall be reviewed and approved by the Director of Park & Recreation or designee if all application items are provided and the applicant is considered to be responsible based upon compliance with any rules, regulations, policies or procedures approved by the Park Board and RCO 85.25 . (4182, 1/21/15) 118.03. Insurance. No license shall be issued nor continue in effect unless the licensee maintains commercial liability insurance on an occurrence basis covering bodily injury and property damage with limits of $1,000,000 for general liability, $5,000 for medical, and worker's compensation and employer's liability insurance with statutory limits on worker's compensation and employer's liability with the limits of $100,000 per accident and $500,000 disease (each employee and policy limit), and unless a certificate or other evidence of the existence of such insurance coverage is on file with the Department of Parks and Recreation throughout the period of licensure. (4182, 1/21/15) 118.04. License Term and Fee. Each license shall be issued for a term of not more than one year and shall expire on December 31 following the effective date of such license. The annual license fee is $55.00 for the term of license period. Renewal applications received after December 31st shall be subject to an additional late fee of $15.00.
