Home My WebLink AboutResolution No. 011-26 - Resolution - 2026 MnDOT Active Transportation Planning Assistance Grant RESOLUTION Adopting a Resolution authorizing the submission of an application to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for Active Transportation Planning Assistance and authorizing the City Administrator to execute related documents if awarded. WHEREAS, The City of Rochester proposes to apply for Active Transportation Planning Assistance through the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The planning assistance would support development of a Transportation Demand Management Action Plan that consolidates and prioritizes implementation of existing City and partner plans related to walking, biking, and rolling; and WHEREAS, Rochester has adopted multiple transportation, land use, safety, and accessibility plans over the past decade, including the Comprehensive Plan, Active Transportation Plan, Transit Development Plan, ADA Transition Plan, and Unified Development Code, along with complementary plans developed by regional and institutional partners. While these plans are aligned in intent, they have not yet been fully integrated into a single, coordinated action framework with shared priorities, timelines, and performance measures; and WHEREAS, If awarded, the planning assistance would support a locally led process to align existing guidance into an implementable, measurable action plan. The City would serve as the lead applicant and coordinating agency, with engagement from relevant stakeholders during plan development. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Rochester, MN that adopt a Resolution authorizing the submission of an application to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for Active Transportation Planning Assistance and authorizing the City Administrator to execute related documents if awarded.
