AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING CENTRAL PARK, A HISTORIC
LANDMARK SITE, AND AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP
AS REFERENCED IN 60.200.020(A) OF THE UNIFIED
DEVELOPMENT CODE OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER DO ORDAIN:
Section 1. The City of Rochester Heritage Preservation Commission held a public hearing
and made a recommendation for the Common Council to designate the following property as a locally
designated historic landmark. The property subject to historic landmark designation is described as
illustrated in Exhibit “A”:
Historic Name: “Central Park”
Address: 225 First Avenue NW
Legal Description (Short)
Public Square, Block 52, Original Plat, City of Rochester Minnesota
Section 2. On November 17, 2025, the Common Council of the City of Rochester held
a public hearing and determined that Central Park met the requirements to designate the property
as a local historic landmark site for the City of Rochester.
Section 3. Therefore, pursuant to section 60.200.040(C) of the Unified Development
Code of the City of Rochester, Central Park shall be designated as a local historic landmark as
illustrated in Exhibit “A” and shall be included to the official list of Landmark Properties.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be effective from and after publication.
