RESOLUTION
Accepting Donations from Oktoberfest, NYE Party, Dr. Ashok Patel, and Anonymous
Donors to the International Relations Committee to Support Student Travel Scholarships.
WHEREAS, the City of Rochester, Minnesota, is generally authorized to accept donations of real
and personal property pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 465.03, for the benefit of its
citizens, and is specifically authorized to accept gifts and bequests for the benefit of recreational
services pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.17; and
WHEREAS, the following donations have been offered as gifts set forth below to the City:
Oktoberfest proceeds $314.00
NYE Party proceeds 48.57
Dr. Ashok Patel 40.15
Anonymous donors 57.00
WHEREAS, no goods or services were provided in exchange for said donation; and
WHEREAS, all such donations have been contributed to assist the City in executing its strategic
priorities and foundational principles; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council finds generally that it is appropriate to accept the donation
offered.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
Minnesota, hereby accepts the above listed donation and directs that it be used in accordance
with the donor’s wishes and in accordance with the law.
