RESOLUTION
Approving a 2026 Budget Amendment Relocation of RPU Duct Bank for LinkBRT
Project.
WHEREAS, Rochester Public Utilities (RPU) has an existing feeder duct bank along 2nd
Street SW adjacent to St. Marys Hospital; and
WHEREAS, portions of the duct bank must be relocated to accommodate construction of
the Link Bus Rapid Transit (LinkBRT) project along 2nd Street SW.
WHEREAS, Rochester Public Utilities Board approved a resolution authorizing a 2026
budget amendment in the amount of $1,233,000 to construct a new segment of electrical
duct bank south of 2nd Street SW.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
MN that a 2026 City of Rochester budget amendment is hereby approved for Rochester Public
Utilities Electric Utility budget in the amount of $1,233,000 to provide for the relocation of the
Cascade Creek duct bank along 2nd Street SW between 12th Avenue SW and 14th Avenue
SW to address location and grade conflicts for the construction of the LinkBRT construction
project.
