RESOLUTION
Awarding Contract for Project No. J1976 Public Safety Training Center Remodel
WHEREAS,, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the following improvement(s):
Project No. J1976 Public Safety Training Center Remodel, the following bids were
received:
Package 1A General Trades: Knutson Construction $83,978
Package 8A Door Frames and Hardware Material Only: Kendell Doors $32,448
Package 8B Glass and Glazing: South Central Glass $10,400
Package 9A Drywall and Framing: Sorensen and Sorensen $49,011
Package 9B Tile: Palmer Soderberg $19,148
Package 9C Resilient Flooring and Carpeting: Hillers $36,200
Package 9D Acoustical Treatments: Twin City Acoustics $14,995
Package 9E Painting: Pompeii Painting $49,760
Package 10B Bullet Resistant Panels Material Only: Covenant Security Equipment $9,658
Package 21A Fire Suppression: Summit Fire Protection $9,765
Package 22A Plumbing: Superior Mechanical $21,150
Package 23A HVAC: Superior Mechanical $27,405
Package 26A Electrical, Communications and Security: Hunt Electric $179,755
Furniture Package: Beckley’s Office Products $79,607.55

WHEREAS, Knutson Construction, Kendell Doors, South Central Glass, Sorensen and
Sorensen, Palmer Soderberg, Hillers Commercial Flooring, Twin City Acoustics, Pompeii
Painting, Covenant Security Equipment, Summit Fire Protection, Superior Mechanical,
Hunt Electric and Beckley’s Office Products are the lowest responsive and responsible
bidders for their respective trade package scopes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Rochester,
Minnesota, that the bids to Knutson Construction $83,978, Kendell Doors $32,448, South
Central Glass $10,400, Sorensen and Sorensen $49,011, Palmer Soderberg $19,148, Hillers
Commercial Flooring $36,200, Twin City Acoustics $14,995, Pompeii Painting $49,760,
Covenant Security Equipment $9,658, Summit Fire Protection $9,765, Superior Mechanical
$21,150, Superior Mechanical $27,405, Hunt Electric $179,755, Beckley’s Office Products
$79,607.55, are hereby accepted and execution of the standard City contracts for
construction with Knutson Construction, Kendell Doors, South Central Glass, Sorensen and
Sorensen, Palmer Soderberg, Hillers Commercial Flooring, Twin City Acoustics, Pompeii
Painting, Covenant Security Equipment, Summit Fire Protection, Superior Mechanical, Hunt
Electric and Beckley’s Office Products, are authorized for the following approved local
improvements: Project No. J1976 Public Safety Training Center Remodel
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the bidder shall execute all contracts within ten days
after the contract is ready for their signature, and if not executed by them in said time,
they shall be deemed to have abandoned the same.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
