HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 461-15 - BearCreekCommonsHousingProjectRESOLUTION A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A TAX CREDIT APPLICATION FOR THE BEAR CREEK COMMONS HOUSING PROJECT WHEREAS, Bush Companies, Inc., has proposed to develop a 23-unit housing project to be known as the Bear Creek Commons Apartments and to be located at 1401 Marion Road S.E. The project would replace an existing six -unit apartment building and a single family residence. The site is approximately .72 acres and zoned R-3 (Medium Density Residential); and, WHEREAS, the Bear Creek Commons Apartments project is intended to provide quality affordable, workforce housing to meet the City's growing housing and workforce needs; and, WHEREAS, the Bear Creek Commons Apartments project was presented to the Rochester Common Council and received the support of that group; and, WHEREAS, the Bear Creek Commons Apartments project meets the needs of the City of Rochester as to the prevention of slum and blighting conditions, and in providing quality, affordable workforce housing; and, WHEREAS, the success of the application is predicated on local support of the proposal. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Rochester Common Council that the City of Rochester supports the application for the tax credits for the Bear Creek Commons Apartments project sponsored by Bush Companies, Inc.
