a multiple dwelling zone was read and upon motion by DeWitz, second by Briese,
the same - was referred to the Board of Zoning. All voted in favor thereof.
A petition requesting the construction of a sidewalk on the east and
west side of 152 Avenue N. W. between 14th Street and 16th Street Northwest in
Giese and Bileneberg 3rd Addition was read and upon motion by Haas, second by
Kamm, the same was referred to the Street & Alley Committee and the City
Engineer. All voted in f avor thereof.
A letter signed by James J. Ma.cken, Jr. recommending that the Council
consider the employment of one additional man, full time, to work with the City
painter was read and upon motion by Tingley, second by Briese, the sa.md was ref-
erred to the Police Committee. All voted in f avor thereof.
A transcript of a public hearing held at the Rochester City Council
Chambers, Rochester, Minnesota, on Thursday, February 27, 1959 at 2:00 P. M. to
consider the economic benefits of proposed improvements concerning S. P. 5590
(FAI 391), from the south county line to Jact. T.H. 63; S.P. 5509 (T.H.63), from
Jct. T.H. 30 to Jct. T.H. 14; S. P. 5501 (T. H. 14) , from Byron to Rochester and
S. P• 5509 (T.H. 52), from a point four miles north of Rochester to the north
county line was presented and President Schroeder ordered the same placed on file.
A petition signed by Arthur J. Hall and Lillian E. Hall to have the
following described property annexed to the City of Rochester was read:
Commencing at the Northeast corner of the No quarter of
Section 340 Township 107 North, Range 14 West; thence West along
the North line of the quarter section a distance of 237.85 feet,
thence S7ou.th parallel to the east -::line of the quarter section a
distance of 33 feet to a point of beginning, thence West parallel -
to the North line of the quarter section a distance of 312.65
feet, thence South parallel to the East line of the quarter section
a distance of 200.00 feet, thence east parallel to the North line
of the quarter section a distance of 312.95 feet, thence North
parallel to the East line of said Section a distance of 200..00
feet to the point of beginning.
Mr. Hall was present and presented a plat of the above described property. Upon
motion by Briese, second by Tingley, the plat and petition were referred to the
Planning and _Zoning Commission. All voted in favor thereof.
The following resolution adopted by the Rochester Airport Commission on
March 4, 1959-was read a-nd upon motion by Haas, second by Briese, the same was
accepted and the City Attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution accepting the
bids. All voted in favor thereof'.
"Resolved, that the Rochester Airport Commission recommend
to the Common Council that the bid of Thomas Hanf for the removal
Of two sets of buildings on the Albert Dahlke farm be rejected and
that the bid of Lynnwood Dahlke be accepted, subject to the opinion
of the City Attorney as to whether or not the City can accept the
bid in view of the injunction dated 3/l/59 served on the City by
Albert & Nora Dahlke restraining the City from proceeding with the
removal of the two sets of buildings.11
